The Sunman eArc 520W SMF520J-12X12UW is a glass free solar panel that turns the roof of your caravan, bus or motorhome into 520 watts of power, with no holes drilled.

At only 2mm thick and 8.6kg, with no frame and no glass, the Sunman eArc 520W bonds straight onto the roof with structural adhesive and can follow a gentle curve. It is also CEC approved, so the same panel goes on homes and sheds and qualifies for solar rebates.

Clean Energy Council (CEC) Approved Product: What's This?

Please note: this panel is flexible and can follow a curve in one direction. It must not be bent in two directions at once or twisted, as that stresses the cells. Please read the Sunman installation manual before you order.

Light on the roof

At 8.6kg a panel, it adds very little weight to a van, bus or light roof.

No holes, no leaks

It bonds on with structural adhesive, so there is nothing to drill and nothing to seal.

520W from one panel

One big panel does the work of several small ones, with fewer joins and less cabling.

Built For Life On The Road

A caravan roof only has so much room. The Sunman eArc puts 520W into a single panel, so one panel can do the job of several smaller ones. At 2mm thin it sits almost flush with the roof, with no frame or rails standing up off it, and it adds only 8.6kg to the load you tow.

Room For More On A Bus Or Motorhome

A bus conversion or large motorhome has the long roof that suits big panels. Two eArc panels laid across the roof give you 1040W of solar, with no rails to fit and no holes cut through the roof you live under.

Follows A Curved Roof

The panel can follow a curve in one direction, so it sits against a domed van roof or a curved skillion instead of standing off it. It must never be bent in two directions at once or twisted, as that stresses the cells.

On The House Too, With Rebates

The eArc is not just for the road. It is listed on the Clean Energy Council approved modules register, so on a home, shed or other building it qualifies for STC rebates when an accredited installer fits it, whether the system is grid connected or off grid. Its light weight suits roofs that cannot carry glass panels.

Main Features

520W From One Panel: 144 monocrystalline half cells deliver 520W at 19.3% efficiency, with a power tolerance of 0 to +5W.

Glass Free And Only 8.6kg: with no glass and no frame, the panel adds very little load to a vehicle or a roof.

Just 2mm Thick: the slim, frameless build sits close to the roof surface and keeps a low profile.

No Roof Penetrations: the panel bonds to the roof with structural adhesive, so there are no holes to drill and no holes to seal.

Follows A Gentle Curve: the flexible panel can follow a curve in one direction, so it suits domed caravan and motorhome roofs.

IP68 Junction Box: the sealed junction box comes fitted with 450mm output cables and MC4 compatible connectors, ready to plug in.

Tested To International Standards: passes IEC 61215, IEC 61730 and UL 61730 testing, along with PID and salt mist level 8 tests.

Rated For Wind Load: certified to 5400 Pa on the front and 2400 Pa on the back when installed by the methods in the manufacturer's manual.

CEC Approved For Rebates: listed on the Clean Energy Council approved modules register, so the panel is eligible for STC rebates on an accredited install, whether grid connected or off grid.

What This Solves

Vans And Buses That Need Real Power: 520W per panel gives a caravan, bus or motorhome serious solar from very little roof.

Roofs You Do Not Want To Drill: adhesive bonding means no screw holes and no leak points.

Roofs That Cannot Carry Glass Panels: 8.6kg per panel keeps the added weight low on light roofs and structures.

A Low Profile Finish: a 2mm panel sits almost flush with the roof instead of standing up on rails.

Rebate Eligibility: CEC approval is current and checked against the register, so there are no surprises at claim time.

Mounting

The panel bonds to the roof, so there is nothing to drill. There are two approved ways to fix it:

  • Structural silicone, such as Fix8 or Sikasil SG-20, in continuous beads at least 10mm wide and 5mm high.
  • Very high bond (VHB) double sided tape used together with structural silicone, such as Fix8.

Tape on its own is not an approved method, and polyurethane or MS polymer adhesives such as Sikaflex are not suitable. Bond lines run across the panel, parallel to its short side, on a clean, even surface. The Sunman installation manual covers bead sizes and curing times. Warranty depends on the panel being installed in line with the manual.

Good to know

Warranty depends on where the panel goes. On a building it carries a 12 year product warranty and a 25 year power warranty. On a caravan, motorhome or other mobile use it carries a 5 year product warranty.

Before you order

Due to the oversized dimensions and awkward shape of these solar panels, freight conditions can vary. Residential and remote or regional addresses may incur additional charges. Please Contact Us before placing an order so we can work out the safest way to deliver.

Building installations: 12 year product warranty and 25 year linear power warranty. Power output is warranted at 98% after the first year and 84.8% at year 25.

Mobile applications (such as caravans and motorhomes): 5 year product warranty.

The warranty depends on the panel being installed and used in line with the Sunman installation manual. Not following the precautions in the manual voids the warranty.
