The Deye SUN-15/20K-SG05LP3-AU-SM2 is a three phase hybrid inverter for larger homes and commercial sites that still runs on affordable 48V batteries.
Available as a 15kW or a 20kW unit. Both take standard 48V battery modules rather than a high voltage stack, and both have two battery inputs so a large bank can be split across them.
Your solar powers the site first, anything spare charges the battery, and only what is left after that goes out to the grid. When the grid drops out the inverter switches you over on its own. Approved by the Clean Energy Council and backed by a 10 year Australian warranty.
Big output, ordinary batteries
Up to 20kW of three phase output while still running on the same 48V modules used across the smaller Deye range.
Very fast charging
Up to 350A of charge and discharge current across two battery inputs, so a large bank fills inside one good solar day.
Serious solar capacity
Takes up to 40,000W of panels, which leaves plenty of headroom for winter and overcast days.
Where this one fits
Most three phase inverters at this size expect a high voltage battery, which means a more expensive stack and a narrower choice of brands. This range takes ordinary 48V modules instead, so you get commercial scale output while keeping the storage side affordable and easy to source.
That makes it a good fit for a large home, a farm, a workshop or a small commercial site, particularly where you may want to expand the battery bank later.

How it works day to day
During daylight the inverter sends your solar straight to whatever is running on site. Anything you are not using goes into the battery rather than being exported for a small feed in payment. Once the battery is full, the surplus then flows out to the grid.
After dark it draws that stored energy back out, so your own solar is still doing the work long after the sun has gone.
Power when the grid goes down
An automatic transfer switch is built in, with a 70A passthrough, so a large part of the site can sit behind the backup side rather than a handful of chosen circuits.
There is also a dedicated generator input rated at 24A, so a generator can carry the site and charge the battery through a long outage.

Adding more solar later
The inverter can AC couple to micro inverters or an existing grid tied solar system, so a second array can sit well away from the inverter without long DC cable runs back.

Approved for Australian sites
Clean Energy Council approved and built to AS/NZS 4777.2, so it can be signed off by your installer and counted toward government incentive schemes. IP65 rated for outdoor mounting.
