Victron Orion-Tr Smart 12/48-8A Isolated DC-DC Charger is an adaptive 3-stage charger with built-in Bluetooth for easy monitoring and programming, along with remote on/off control and engine running detection.

It works with 12V, 24V, and 48V systems and supports both lead-acid and lithium battery types, making it suitable for a wide range of applications. Its flexible configuration ensures efficient charging and reliable performance in different environments.

Models are available up to 400W, and multiple units can be connected in parallel to increase total output when needed. The unit is also designed to handle high temperatures, delivering full output up to 40 °C and remaining dependable in ambient conditions up to 55 °C.

Bluetooth Smart Enabled: Easily monitor and configure the charger using any Bluetooth-enabled smartphone, tablet, or device. With the VictronConnect App, you can view key data such as warnings and alarms instantly on the Device List page—no physical connection required. Fully Programmable: The charger allows flexible configuration to suit different systems. You can set a custom battery charge algorithm or use a fixed output, and it’s compatible with smart alternators through an engine-running detection mechanism for efficient charging on modern vehicles.

Adaptive 3-Stage Charging: Featuring bulk, absorption, and float stages, the adaptive charge algorithm optimises battery health. For lead-acid batteries, the absorption time automatically adjusts based on the discharge depth—shorter for shallow cycles to prevent overcharging, and longer after deep discharges to ensure full recovery. Lithium batteries use a fixed default absorption time of two hours, or you can choose a constant output voltage if preferred.

Smart Alternator Ready: Ideal for Euro 5 and Euro 6 engines, the built-in engine shutdown detection ensures the converter stops when the engine is off. This prevents accidental draining of the starter battery, offering safe and reliable operation in modern vehicles.

Remote On/Off Control: A remote on/off switch or relay can be connected to a two-pole connector for convenient control. You can wire the H terminal to battery positive or the L terminal to battery negative (or chassis ground), allowing easy integration with vehicle systems or external switches.

Parallel Operation: All models are short-circuit proof and support parallel connection. This means you can connect multiple units without limitation to increase the total output current and scale your system as needed.
