The Victron Energy Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) Battery 12.8V/100Ah Smart offers a reliable and efficient energy solution for various applications, including off-grid solar, marine and RV systems. Its LiFePO4 technology allows for a longer lifespan, even when not fully charged, making it a low-maintenance option compared to traditional lead-acid batteries.
Main Features:
Longer Service Life: Unlike traditional lead-acid batteries, these LiFePO4 batteries do not require full charging, offering an extended lifespan even under partial charge conditions.
Superior Efficiency: They outperform lead-acid batteries with up to 92% round-trip energy efficiency, especially in off-grid solar and wind applications.
Compact and Lightweight: Save up to 70% in space and weight, making installation easier and more versatile.
Bluetooth Monitoring: Effortlessly track battery status, including voltage, temperature, and alarms, using the VictronConnect app for real-time insights.
Rugged and Reliable: Ideal for challenging environments, these batteries operate efficiently in a wide temperature range and offer low internal resistance for peak performance.
Six tailored BMS solutions: There are 6 different BMS models tailored for various applications available for use with the Lithium Battery Smart.
Requires one of these BMS units:
-
VE.Bus BMS: Recommended for systems with our inverter/chargers.
-
smallBMS: Recommended for use in small systems.
-
Battery Management System BMS 12/200: Recommended for use in automotive and marine systems with DC-loads and alternators.
-
Smart BMS 12/200: Recommended for use in automotive and marine systems with DC loads and alternators.
-
Smart BMS CL 12/100: Recommended for use in automotive and marine systems with DC loads and alternators.
- Lynx Smart BMS (Available Here): Recommended for use in large systems.
The system design and BMS selection guide in the battery manual provide an overview and explain the differences between them and their typical use
The Battery Management System (BMS) functions as follows:
- It triggers a pre-alarm if the voltage of any battery cell falls below 3.1V (adjustable between 2.85V and 3.15V).
- It disconnects or shuts down the load if the voltage drops below 2.8V (adjustable between 2.6V and 2.8V) to prevent damage.
- It halts the charging process if the voltage of any cell exceeds 3.75V, or if the temperature goes beyond the safe range, protecting the battery from overcharging or thermal issues.

Important Disclaimer: Installation of Hardwired Electrical Products in Australia
Please read the following information, including the disclaimer at the bottom of this page;
by purchasing from Buzz Energy Systems, you understand and acknowledge these terms.
When it comes to the installation of hardwired electrical products in Australia, it is important to be aware of the regulations and guidelines in place to ensure safety and compliance.
As per the Electrical Safety Act, installations operating at ELV (Extra Low Voltage) levels of 60 volts and below can be installed by individuals with the necessary knowledge and skills.
However, it is crucial to note that installations operating above ELV levels require the expertise of licensed electricians and experienced installers. Products falling under this category are not suitable for DIY (Do-It-Yourself) installation and must be handled by professionals. Attempting to install such products without the proper qualifications can not only compromise performance but also invalidate any manufacturer's warranties.
At Buzz Energy Systems, we recognise the importance of reliable and efficient installations that prioritise safety, performance and warranty compliance. Our team consists of qualified tradespeople and specialists who are equipped with the expertise required to handle complex electrical installations.
For installations that operate above ELV levels, we strongly advise against DIY installation. Instead, we recommend seeking professional assistance from licensed electricians and experienced installers to ensure the proper installation and optimal performance of such products.
When it comes to installing hardwired electrical products above ELV levels, rest assured that Buzz Energy Systems can provide the necessary qualified tradespeople and specialists. Our professional installation services guarantee compliance with regulations, the preservation of manufacturers warranties and most importantly, your safety.
