The Ocular IQ Home Solar EV Charger is a compact home charging solution. Designed for electric vehicle owners who want to make better use of their solar energy, with the convenience of an attached 5m Cable.
Built for residential installations, it supports both standard grid charging and solar-assisted charging, helping households optimise available power while maintaining safe operation. Its compact wall-mounted design with LED status indicators makes it suitable for garages, carports, or outdoor installation.
Designed for flexibility with 3rd party solar systems, the charger integrates with home energy systems to monitor solar production and household consumption. Including current transformers (CTs) allows the system to detect excess solar energy and adjust charging accordingly. Through the Ocular Smart Home app, users can monitor charging activity, schedule sessions, and manage the charger remotely, providing a practical way to control EV charging at home.
Main Features
Solar-aware charging – Included CT clamps monitor solar generation and household load, allowing the charger to prioritise excess solar energy for EV charging.
Adjustable charging current – Charging output can be set during installation or adjusted through the mobile app to match household capacity and energy use.
Smart app control – The Ocular Smart Home app enables scheduling, monitoring, and analysis of charging sessions, providing better visibility of energy use.
Flexible installation options – Available in single-phase (7kW) and three-phase (22kW) versions, with either tethered cable or socket configuration to suit different setups.
Smart connectivity – Supports Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and 4G communication with compatibility for OCPP protocols, allowing integration with energy management platforms.

Important Disclaimer: Installation of Hardwired Electrical Products in Australia
Please read the following information, including the disclaimer at the bottom of this page;
by purchasing from Buzz Energy Systems, you understand and acknowledge these terms.
When it comes to the installation of hardwired electrical products in Australia, it is important to be aware of the regulations and guidelines in place to ensure safety and compliance.
As per the Electrical Safety Act, installations operating at ELV (Extra Low Voltage) levels of 120 VDC and below can be installed by individuals with the necessary knowledge and skills.
However, it is crucial to note that installations operating above ELV levels require the expertise of licensed electricians and experienced installers. Products falling under this category are not suitable for DIY (Do-It-Yourself) installation and must be handled by professionals. Attempting to install such products without the proper qualifications can not only compromise performance but also invalidate any manufacturer's warranties.
At Buzz Energy Systems, we recognise the importance of reliable and efficient installations that prioritise safety, performance and warranty compliance. Our team consists of qualified tradespeople and specialists who are equipped with the expertise required to handle complex electrical installations.
For installations that operate above ELV levels, we strongly advise against DIY installation. Instead, we recommend seeking professional assistance from licensed electricians and experienced installers to ensure the proper installation and optimal performance of such products.
When it comes to installing hardwired electrical products above ELV levels, rest assured that Buzz Energy Systems can provide the necessary qualified tradespeople and specialists. Our professional installation services guarantee compliance with regulations, the preservation of manufacturers warranties and most importantly, your safety.

It’s a common situation: an EV charger is installed, everything appears correctly wired, but the charging speed is much lower than expected. Even after rechecking the installation, the issue persists.
In most cases, this is not a fault with the charger—it comes down to product selection and how EV charging power actually works.
