Flexibility and Optimisation
The Fronius Wattpilot Home EV charger has the ability to charge your EV using your own solar power. If you already own a photovoltaic (PV) system, you can use the surplus energy generated by your system to charge your EV sustainably and at virtually no cost.
The Fronius Wattpilot Home offers two charging modes:
Preferred mode and next trip mode.
Preferred mode is ideal for PV system owners as it ensures that your vehicle is charged with self-generated solar power or the cheapest mains current whenever available.
Next trip mode is for those who want to reliably charge their electric car to cover a specific journey by a specific time.
Dynamic load balancing
This allows you to use the entire available amount of your household electricity optimally. With one or more installed charging stations, not only can you charge your electric cars at the same time, but also by optimising energy. The energy required can be controlled and distributed dynamically among up to three vehicles being charged. This feature saves high connection costs and also effectively prevents overloading at the house connection.
In addition to automatic 1 and 3 phase switching, Wattpilot Home can regulate it's output in 1-amp steps, allowing optimal use of the surplus PV energy, from 1.38 kW to 22 kW. This feature ensures that you save while you charge and make optimum use of your PV system so that it pays for itself faster.
Connectivity
Operate your Fronius Wattpilot Home with the Solar.wattpilot app.
The app provides an overview of the charging process and allows you to control the charging process remotely.
Additionally, Fronius Wattpilot Home can be seamlessly integrated into the Fronius Solar.web app, which gives you an insight into all the components of your PV system at any time and allows you to control the use of all your self-generated solar energy.
The app also enables you to monitor the charging data, change charging modes and make a wide range of settings from anywhere.
Compatibility
The Fronius Wattpilot Home supports Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP) which is a communication protocol that allows EV charging stations to communicate with a central management system. This feature enables you to connect your Fronius Wattpilot Home to a network of other EV chargers and manage them centrally.

Important Disclaimer: Installation of Hardwired Electrical Products in Australia
Please read the following information, including the disclaimer at the bottom of this page;
by purchasing from Buzz Energy Systems, you understand and acknowledge these terms.
When it comes to the installation of hardwired electrical products in Australia, it is important to be aware of the regulations and guidelines in place to ensure safety and compliance.
As per the Electrical Safety Act, installations operating at ELV (Extra Low Voltage) levels of 60 volts and below can be installed by individuals with the necessary knowledge and skills.
However, it is crucial to note that installations operating above ELV levels require the expertise of licensed electricians and experienced installers. Products falling under this category are not suitable for DIY (Do-It-Yourself) installation and must be handled by professionals. Attempting to install such products without the proper qualifications can not only compromise performance but also invalidate any manufacturer's warranties.
At Buzz Energy Systems, we recognise the importance of reliable and efficient installations that prioritise safety, performance and warranty compliance. Our team consists of qualified tradespeople and specialists who are equipped with the expertise required to handle complex electrical installations.
For installations that operate above ELV levels, we strongly advise against DIY installation. Instead, we recommend seeking professional assistance from licensed electricians and experienced installers to ensure the proper installation and optimal performance of such products.
When it comes to installing hardwired electrical products above ELV levels, rest assured that Buzz Energy Systems can provide the necessary qualified tradespeople and specialists.
