Selectronic Certified AC coupled Inverters

Selectronic Certified (Scert) AC coupled PV inverters are a range of inverters that are designed to work with the SP PRO multi-mode inverter.

These inverters utilise configured hardware and software that enable direct communication with the SP PRO Inverter.
This means that the SP PRO has control of the flow of energy from the solar panels with as fine control as 0.1% steps.
Developed by Selectronic in 2010, this technology is known as Managed AC Coupling.

The Selectronic Certified solar inverter can be considered as an AC MPPT. By creating an AC Bus, an AC coupled system will allow PV energy to be efficiently used directly by the loads (installed circuits with appliances/devices) with excess PV energy going back through the multi-mode SP PRO to charge batteries or export to the grid.

Currently, Selectronic Certified (SCERT) inverters are available from both ABB and Fronius.

The Fronius Primo single-phase and Fronius Symo three-phase ranges are available in power categories from 3.0 to 15 kW.

The ABB Solar Inverters are available in three models:
UNO-DM Plus Q-SCERT 4.6 kW
UNO-DM Plus Q-SCERT 5.0 kW
UNO-DM Plus Q-SCERT 6.0 kW

Selectronic Certified inverters offer several benefits such as maximised battery life via precise charging control, no frequency variations to the loads, and full support from Selectronic. They also allow for maximum system efficiency and flexibility, making them ideal for off-grid AC coupling, solar hybrid AC coupling with fixed export limit requirements (with or without batteries) and solar hybrid AC coupling where up to twice the PV to SP PRO rating is required.

If you're looking for a cost-effective, future-ready solution for your solar power system, consider using a Selectronic Certified solar inverter. It allows you to have a grid-tie solar power system today and add a fully managed battery storage system at a later date.
